Our Horses

Bayberry Rhum

Bayberry Rhum Our foundation broodmare, Bayberry Rhum, is a 1987 16.1H dapple bay Thoroughbred known for producing correct, athletic, level-headed horses. She produced the first Fannin’s Folly Farm foal, Bring The Rhum, on May 10, 2007. Bring The Rhum is a gorgeous bay filly by Bridon Glenmore with perfect confirmation and an even-tempered curiosity that will take her far in the eventing world. Bayberry Rhum gave us a second filly on April 18, 2009. Dew Run Rhum is currently bay, going grey, and is sired by Dandelion Diamond Rebel, who passed on his bold, fearless attitude and excellent confirmation to her. Brandy Light

Brandy Light In 2007, we purchased another broodmare, Brandy Light. She is a 2000 16H chestnut Thoroughbred with Native Dancer, Bold Ruler, and Majestic Prince in her lineage. She was bred to Dandelion Diamond Rebel last year and produced a gorgeous filly on May 3, 2009. Whiskey Rebellion, or Gidget, is chestnut right now, but is already going grey. She has long, long legs and a ton of spunk. We are looking forward to getting to know her as she matures. For more information on Gidget, please visit our sales page.

Bring The Rhum

Click for more information about Bring The Rhum "Morgan" is the princess of the farm. Being the first filly, she has been lavished with love and attention since the day she was born. Over the last two years, we have marveled at her fearlessness and her independence. She truly enjoys human companionship and has an intense desire to please. She loves to jump natural obstacles in the field just for the fun of it, and has an impressive, tight-kneed jump that will win lots of ribbons in the hunter ring. Well-suited for any discipline, you can find more information on this lovely filly on our sales page.

Dew Run Rhum

Click for more information about Dew Run Rhum Affectionately known as "Fiona", this filly has a regal presence about her. She is handled daily and is very cooperative – stands quietly to have her feet cleaned, accepts a halter and fly mask, and loves to be brushed. Born Bay, but she will surely gray out to be the image of her stunning Sire, Dandelion Diamond Rebel by Rebel Yell, RID. Her Dam, Bayberry Rhum was bred in the past to Rebel Yell, and produced Bailey’s Rebel Rhum, IDSH. Since the Rebel Yell/Bayberry Rhum combination was so successful in the past, we wanted Rhum’s last foal to carry on the tradition of conformational excellence and a sensible attitude. Fiona does not disappoint us in either area. She is eligible for registration with the IDHSNA. Her paperwork will be submitted prior to December 31, 2009. Additional information is available on our sales page.

Whiskey Rebellion

Click for more information about Whiskey Rebellion This little filly's nickname could only be "Gidget". She has spunk to spare tempered by a willingness to please her handlers. She stands like a statue for fly spray and is learning to accept the halter and fly mask. Gidget has a very independent and confident nature. Handled daily and very cooperative. Born Chestnut, but there's no question she will gray out to match her Sire. Gidget displays beautiful gaits and is light on her feet. She runs for the sheer joy of galloping around the pasture. She is eligible for registration with the IDHSNA. Her paperwork will be submitted prior to December 31, 2009. Please visit our sales page for additional information.

Southern Comfort

Click for more information about Southern Comfort Southern Comfort (Shiloh) is a 3 year old 16.1H dapple grey American Warmblood gelding. He was purchased as a weanling and has been the prince of the farm ever since. He lives for peppermints (or anything wrapped in plastic) and loves a good long grooming session. This guy is going well under saddle, currently in professional training, and promises to be an impressive athlete when he grows up. For more information, please visit our sales page.

Dolly

Dolly Dolly is an 8 year old 16.2H grey Percheron mare. She was purchased as a husband horse, and she knows her job well! She'll cart anyone down the trail without a fuss and is simply a lovely addition to the barn. We are considering using her as a surrogate mother for Rhum’s babies in the future because she looks longingly over the fence every day at the mamas and babies on the farm.

Ariel

Ariel Ariel is our one and only boarder. She is an 8 year old chestnut Arabian mare who stands at a spritely 14.2H. Trained as an endurance horse, she is no stranger to the trails, but she secretly wants to be a dressage pony, so we are working toward that goal. She is currently rehabbing from splint bone surgery, expected to make a full recovery.

Riley's Believe It Or Not

Riley's Believe It Or Not Riley's Believe It Or Not (Riley) is a 16.1H 1998 chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. Purchased at auction to be used as a lesson horse, it was soon discovered that Riley's talents were best appreciated by a single rider. After lots of cross country schooling, and a few events and combined tests, he was sold in 2007 (congratulations, Michele!) and is currently very successful in the local hunter pleasure and jumper rings.

Nevada Comet

Nevada Comet Nevada Comet (Dice) was a 15.3H bright bay Anglo-Arab. He was one of the original FFF horses. He loved to trail ride and was a beautiful mover in the dressage ring. He passed away in September of 2007 and he is sadly missed. We are sincerely grateful for everything he gave to us during the time we got to spend with him.

Attache

Attache Finally, the patriarch of our pasture, Dewey was a 16.2H bay Swedish Warmblood. He started his life as a talented dressage horse, and was competing at the Prix St. Georges level when a broken jaw earned him retirement at the age of 10. Upon recovery, he went on to be a school horse at Ferrum College, then moved into the lesson program at Virginia Tech. He was purchased from Virginia Tech in 2005 as a retiree. A horse in a million, Dewey knew the ropes and happily taught them to every single person who ever had the pleasure of riding him. We are so lucky to have gotten to spend his final years with him, and we will be blessed if we ever encounter another horse with his knowledge, mind and incredible temperament. He passed away at the ripe old age of 29 in March of 2009. His presence can still be felt on the farm, and he is truly and deeply missed.
